Female musicians in Ghana are doing very well with their various crafts, but seemingly the male musicians are highly mentioned than the female ones.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Taking a walk through the Ghanaian music industry, most female musicians are signed to a record label, thus their promotional strategies are quite high, unlike independent musicians.<\/p>\n
According to Mizvee in a chat with Naa Ashorkor on Asaase radio, being a female in the music industry is not an easy task but she has put in much efforts to survive.<\/p>\n

She said;<\/p>\n
\u201cIt has been an experience honestly speaking, especially being a female in the music industry in Ghana. Being female in any industry is very crazy. The music industry is very male dominated, so to be an independent artist who is female ne doing this three years after leaving her record label, and still get nominated for awards, performing where ever, able to shoot my videos, it\u2019s just beautiful to me and it\u2019s not easy.\u201d<\/p>\n

She further punched on the fact that, it doesn\u2019t make sense to always mention male musicians mostly in Ghana at the expense of female musicians who are really working hard.<\/p>\n
She said;<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen you listen to radio stations, they are always mentioning the male musicians and it doesn\u2019t make sense to me. At the end of the day when people come to town looking for female musicians, I\u2019m like the first they call so what\u2019s happening? An award scheme in Nigeria, I was the only female they called, so why won\u2019t they mention my name? Why won\u2019t they mention Efya\u2019s name or Jackie, or Wendy Shay? I don\u2019t understand.\u201d<\/p>\n
