This resulted in a 29.1% increase in average cash-in value to \u00a2264 in 2021, from \u00a2204 in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Cash-in values constituted 12.1% of total transaction volumes in 2021, compared to 16.3% in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>However, the total value of cash-out transactions increased by 23.7% to \u00a296.50 billion in 2021, from \u00a278.01 billion in 2020.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>Similarly, the average cash-out value increased by 18.0% to \u00a2179 in 2021, from \u00a2152 in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Airtime top-up led the top three e-money wallet-based transaction types, in terms of volume, the Bank of Ghana added.<\/p>\n<p>It was followed by cash-in and cash-out of mobile money transactions.<\/p>\n<p>However, the top three in terms of value were cash-in, P2B payments and cash-outs.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Central Bank, the average mobile money transaction value increased by 16.3% to \u00a2230 in 2021, from \u00a2198 in 2020.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mobile Money transactions register 9.99% year-on-year growth in 4-months of 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mobile Money transactions recorded 9.99% year-on-year growth to \u00a2331.2 billion in the first four months of 2022.<\/p>\n<p>However, in the first four months of 2021, Mobile Money transactions stood at \u00a2301.1 billion.<\/p>\n<p>According to data from the Bank of Ghana, transactions via Mobile Money grew consecutively until April 2022 when it dipped slightly.<\/p>\n<p>The Electronic Transaction Levy (E-levy) was implemented from May 1st, 2022 and that could have accounted for the slight dip in the April 2022 number.<\/p>\n<p>            <!--  [embed]https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=videoseries[\/embed]<!--\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>--><\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"qUD-uvk_Fq4\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Delegates Conference: NPP warns aspirants to desist from vote-buying  (7-7-22)\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qUD-uvk_Fq4?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mobile money has improved the efficiency of money transactions Total cash-in values of mobile money increased by 64.5% to \u00a2164.80 billion in 2021, from \u00a2100.17 billion in 2020.
