In a long press release, they urged politicians to enter the classrooms and teach until their ( teachers) condition of service is improved.<\/p>\n<p>Prior the official strike declaration, members of the various teacher unions chanted songs of agitation and anger. According to them, government has put a total deaf ear to their plea.<\/p>\n<p>They therefore urged all their colleagues in Ghana not to go to school . Those that couldn&#8217;t hear the announcement were urged to return home.<\/p>\n<p>A visit to some Basic Schools in the Dormaa Municipal Assembly saw some of the students playing football. They have been abandoned by their teachers over the strike.<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time teachers are embarking on a nationwide strike. It appears nothing better has been done for them.
