{"id":1141609,"date":"2022-07-04T15:37:58","date_gmt":"2022-07-04T15:37:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/07\/04\/i-am-for-the-youth-kamal-gumah\/"},"modified":"2022-07-04T15:37:58","modified_gmt":"2022-07-04T15:37:58","slug":"i-am-for-the-youth-kamal-gumah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/07\/04\/i-am-for-the-youth-kamal-gumah\/","title":{"rendered":"I Am For The Youth \u2013 Kamal Gumah"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>PRINCE Kamal Gumah, a National Youth Organiser aspirant in the upcoming national executives election of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has stated that his intention to vie for the position was driven by his desire to help the youth of the party and the youth of the country at large.<\/p>\n<p>He also added that his track record within the party also puts him far ahead of his competitors as the best candidate for the position.<\/p>\n<p>In a engagement with journalists earlier this week, the successful businessman stressed that the party\u2019s ambition of securing total victory in the 2024 general elections depended heavily on the youth and pledged to \u201cwork closely\u201d with the party\u2019s youth to ensure the needed results are achieved.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that, following the 2020 general elections, he embarked on a nationwide tour three consecutive times to ascertain first hand, the circumstances that held to the party\u2019s relatively poor fortunes as compared to the 2016 elections when the NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo as then candidate, beat them incumbent president, John Dramani Mahama by an unprecedented margin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy first nationwide tour\u201d he explained, \u201cwas to understand why in 2020, John Mahama was able to acquire the votes he had. Even with what all that President Akufo-Addo\u2019s government had achieved within his first four years, it was still not reflected in the youth\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, \u201cover 70% of President Akufo-Addo\u2019s votes came from the youth, and so if the youth are dissatisfied where are the youth?\u201d, he quizzed while insisting that the development and progress of the party and its success especially in the 2024 elections depended on the progress of the youth.<\/p>\n<p>Outlining his visions for the party, Mr. Gumah said he would look to create a platform and atmosphere that provided equal\u2019opportunity for the youth of the party in order to empower them as well as create more significant resources for the party\u2019s development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe youth of our party needs more than just empowerment.
