Deputy Finance Minister John Kumah has explained that Former President John Dramani Mahama went to IMF because he was incompetent but NPP going for an IMF bailout now is a different case altogether.<\/p>\n

In an interview today, Friday 1st July 2022 with Asempa FM’s Ekosiisen program he argued that Ghana is part of the International Monetary Fund and if there is a global crisis beyond Ghana’s control, why can’t we go there for help?<\/p>\n

John Kumah further revealed that, the alternative for Ghana not to go to IMF was the E-Levy. “Because of the propaganda of the NDC, many people have find ways and means to avoid the E-Levy hence it’s revenue mobilization failed to meet the target. So when your home grown policies let you down, you don’t have alternative but to go for IMF programme.” He said. <\/p>\n

Mahama forced Ghana to go for IMF in 2015 due to his incompetence but our case is different. The Russian -Ukraine war has taken a toll on us. He added.<\/p>\n
