However, she was overage and decided to satisfy her curiosity by moving to Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>While at the University of Ghana, Abena met her husband (now ex), and they got married in their final year at Koforidua. In response to whether her parents were present for the ceremony, Abena told DJ Nyaami that her parents cried when they heard the news.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy parents didn\u2019t come for the wedding. They cried a lot because they thought I would never come to Norway,\u201d she said amidst laughter.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe played boyfriend and girlfriend in a play and dated after. Eventually, we got married in 2001; our final year in uni,\u201d she added.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to Abena, she travelled to Norway with her husband after graduating because her student visa had expired. After three girls, they got a divorce, but they still maintain a great relationship with their kids.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLife abroad is difficult, and life happens. He gave me three beautiful girls, and I thank God for that.
