{"id":1138526,"date":"2022-06-30T19:12:45","date_gmt":"2022-06-30T19:12:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/06\/30\/bog-sensitises-immigration-officers-in-dambai-on-financial-literacy\/"},"modified":"2022-06-30T19:12:45","modified_gmt":"2022-06-30T19:12:45","slug":"bog-sensitises-immigration-officers-in-dambai-on-financial-literacy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/06\/30\/bog-sensitises-immigration-officers-in-dambai-on-financial-literacy\/","title":{"rendered":"BOG sensitises Immigration Officers in Dambai on financial literacy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"font-size: 17px;\">\n                                                   Dambai, June 30, GNA-The Bank of Ghana (BOG) has held a sensitisation workshop for officers of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) at Dambai in the Oti region on financial literacy.<\/p>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">The discussions were centred on financial consumers\u2019 rights and responsibilities, customer complaints resolution procedures and the creation of a culture of anti-money compliance.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">Mr Augustine Amoako Donkor, Head, Conduct Supervision Unit-BOG, took the participants through the importance of financial literacy, the financial system regulations, and institutions regulated by the Bank.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">Other areas included financial consumer protection, consumer responsibilities, how a customer could protect their account as well as loan applications.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">Mrs Nana Asaa Parker of the Bank\u2019s Market Conduct Office, touched on the submission of complaint, channels of complaint such as \u201cverbally in person, verbally by telephone, writing in person and writing by post.\u201d<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">She also took the officers through the three levels of complaint, financial institutions, Bank of Ghana, and law courts.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">Mr Charles Wilcox Ofori, Financial Integrity Office-BOG, spoke on resolution timeline, appealing resolution, limitations of compliant, suspension of resolution, role of GIS in anti-money laundering and counter financing of terrorism, recognition and reporting of suspicious transactions, and red flags of suspicious transactions.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">Assistant Commissioner of Immigration (ACI) Peter Osei Osafo, Acting Deputy Oti Regional Commander, commended the Bank and facilitators for the presentations urging the GIS to collaborate with the BOG to organise such educative programmes regularly.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">He also urged the participants to make use of the lessons learnt from the workshop and become ambassadors for the benefit of others and the country.<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dambai, June 30, GNA-The Bank of Ghana (BOG) has held a sensitisation workshop for officers of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) at Dambai in the Oti region on financial literacy.
