{"id":1138406,"date":"2022-06-30T15:37:48","date_gmt":"2022-06-30T15:37:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/06\/30\/herve-renard-rejected-black-stars-coaching-opportunity\/"},"modified":"2022-06-30T15:37:48","modified_gmt":"2022-06-30T15:37:48","slug":"herve-renard-rejected-black-stars-coaching-opportunity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/06\/30\/herve-renard-rejected-black-stars-coaching-opportunity\/","title":{"rendered":"Herve Renard rejected Black Stars coaching opportunity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\">\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"378\" class=\"entry-thumb\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Screenshot-2022-06-29-112452-696x378.png\"   alt=\"Herve Renard\" title=\"Herve Renard\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Herve Renard<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association [GFA],\u00a0Randy Abbey, has revealed that Herve Renard rejected\u00a0Black Stars coaching opportunity\u00a0following the sacking of CK Akonnor.<\/p>\n<p>Following the sacking of Akonnor following Ghana\u2019s poor start to the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, a three-member committee was put together by the FA to settle on a new coach within 48 hours.<\/p>\n<p>The committee eventually settled on Milovan Rajevac, but the Serbian lasted for just five months in the job before being fired after the Black Stars\u2019 disappointing campaign at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon having signed a one-year renewable deal.<\/p>\n<p>Ghana failed to win a single game during the tournament in Cameroon and finished at the bottom of a group that contained Morocco, Gabon, and Comoros.
