{"id":1137849,"date":"2022-06-29T20:04:32","date_gmt":"2022-06-29T20:04:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/06\/29\/sports-minister-inaugurates-six-member-committee-to-raise-funds-for-2022-world-cup\/"},"modified":"2022-06-29T20:04:32","modified_gmt":"2022-06-29T20:04:32","slug":"sports-minister-inaugurates-six-member-committee-to-raise-funds-for-2022-world-cup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/06\/29\/sports-minister-inaugurates-six-member-committee-to-raise-funds-for-2022-world-cup\/","title":{"rendered":"Sports Minister Inaugurates Six-member Committee To Raise Funds For 2022 World Cup |"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Ghana&#8217;s Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif has inaugurated a six-member committee tasked to raise funds for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.<\/p>\n<p>The Committee is chaired by Deputy Sports Minister Evans Opoku Bobbie who will undertake a number of activities in order to raise funds\u00a0required to complement government support for Ghana&#8217;s participation at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement from the Sports Minister Ghana will be participate in order tournaments such as the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, the Women&#8217;s U-20 FIFA World Cup in Costa Rica, World Athletics Championship in Oregon and the 2023 AFCON qualifiers thus the need for support from corporate Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Sports have contributed significantly to the country&#8217;s economy in a variety of ways over the years. As a result, bringing in corporate entities to support us will strategically position our sports as a major economic driver&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Members on the six-member committee are,\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Hon.\u00a0John Ampontuah Kumah\u00a0(Dep. Minister of Finance),<\/p>\n<p>Hon. George Mireku Duker (Dep. Minister of Lands &#038; Natural Resources),<\/p>\n<p>Hon. Andrew Egyapa Mercer (Dep.
