President of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (GIMG), Dr Daniel Kasser-Tee has stated the agenda of the institute to support the policy and regulation of the government to market Ghana, especially \u2018made-in-Ghana\u2019 products.<\/p>\n
Dr Kasser-Tee revealed that the agenda of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) to support \u2018made-in-Ghana\u2019 products started last two or three years as the institute has been given a special mention of Ghanaian or African products that were used at events<\/p>\n
\u201cFor the past two or three years, we have set an agenda to support the vision of the President to promote \u2018made-in-Ghana\u2019 goods. In view of this, we have tailored our activities to ensure that whatever we wear for events, the food we eat at events and whatever we drink for any occasion is a \u2018made-in-Ghana\u2019 product\u201d, he stated.<\/p>\n
He however pleaded with Ghanaians to make a conscious effort to always buy \u2018made-in-Ghana\u2019 products.<\/p>\n
He made this known in an interview with the media at the 32nd annual general meeting of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana and the swearing-in of committee members.<\/p>\n
He said it is imperative for the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) to set the agenda for the practice of marketing, champion the role and value of marketing as a critical tool for business development and support the government in the development of policy and regulation for marketing Ghana.<\/p>\n
Dr Kasser-Tee also called on marketers to devise innovative ways of making meaningful contributions to the country\u2019s growth and development.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want to preach this gospel to the point where every Ghanaian will think and consider a Ghanaian or an African product first in the market before looking for alternatives in their absence\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n
Touching on the plan of the CIMG to capitalise on the African Continental Free Trade Area, Dr Kasser-Tee said that the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana being empowered by an act of Parliament is helping the institute to collaborate with a lot of marketing institutes in the West African sub-region.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf every business in Ghana and Africa as whole understood marketing, countries and their businesses would have grown because marketing is the foundation rock of every business. So, if we start in Ghana and we teach our professionals how to engage in professional marketing and extend to entire Africa, at the end of the day, the consumer will benefit\u201d, he stated.<\/p>\n
