{"id":1136395,"date":"2022-06-28T12:53:09","date_gmt":"2022-06-28T12:53:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/06\/28\/ghana-becomes-first-african-country-to-benefit-from-nfl-programme\/"},"modified":"2022-06-28T12:53:09","modified_gmt":"2022-06-28T12:53:09","slug":"ghana-becomes-first-african-country-to-benefit-from-nfl-programme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/06\/28\/ghana-becomes-first-african-country-to-benefit-from-nfl-programme\/","title":{"rendered":"Ghana becomes first African country to benefit from NFL programme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"464\" class=\"entry-thumb\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/image_2022-06-28_095958850-696x464.png\"   alt=\"Dr. Bawumia\" title=\"Dr. Bawumia\"\/><\/div>\n<p>The Vice-President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, is optimistic\u00a0Ghana\u00a0will produce talents for the National Football League (NFL) in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>This comes after the NFL, at an exhibition on Sunday, selected Ghana to host to unearth players into the NFL Academy.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the initiative, 10 schools have been selected alongside trained teachers who will guide their students to play American Football, as extra curricular activity, in a programme dubbed NFL Flag.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large td-caption-align-https:\/\/www.adomonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/image_2022-06-28_093904012.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/image_2022-06-28_093904012-1024x768.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2131627\"  \/><\/figure>\n<p>These schools, after 12 weeks of training, will compete in a special tournament for an opportunity to take part in an international NFL competition in the United States.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>Dr Bawumia, in a post on Facebook, said, \u201cearlier today in Accra, I joined the National Football League (NFL) of the US, NFL legends and many young Ghanaians for an exhibition of American Football.
