{"id":1136226,"date":"2022-06-28T09:48:03","date_gmt":"2022-06-28T09:48:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/06\/28\/npp-okays-candidates-for-elections\/"},"modified":"2022-06-28T09:48:03","modified_gmt":"2022-06-28T09:48:03","slug":"npp-okays-candidates-for-elections","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/06\/28\/npp-okays-candidates-for-elections\/","title":{"rendered":"NPP Okays Candidates For Elections"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>THE Election Committee of the ruling New Patriotic (NPP) has qualified 48 candidates for the national officers\u2019 election slated for July 15 to 17, 2022 at the Accra Sports Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>The successful candidates \u2014 six standing for National Chairman position, 10 for National Vice Chairman position, another six for General Secretary and the rest gunning for the Treasurer, Organiser, Women\u2019s Organiser, Youth Organiser and Nasara Coordinator posts \u2014 took part in a drawing yesterday at the party\u2019s headquarters in Accra, to determine their positions on the ballot.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chairman <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For the Chairmanship race, Gifty Ama Asantewa Ayeh will occupy the top spot, and will be followed by Sammy Crabbe (2<sup>nd<\/sup>), Prof. Christopher Ameyaw-Ekumfi (3<sup>rd<\/sup>), Akwasi Osei-Adjei (4<sup>th<\/sup>), Stephen Ntim (5<sup>th<\/sup>), Joseph Ayikoi Otoo (6<sup>th<\/sup>), Stephen Asamoah Boateng (7<sup>th<\/sup>), and George Kwabena Abankwa-Yeboah (8<sup>th<\/sup>) in this order on voters\u2019 ballots.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vice Chairman<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ismael Yahuza will occupy the top spot on the ballot for the Vice Chairmanship race and will be followed by McJewels J. Annan (2<sup>nd<\/sup>), Danquah Smith Buttey (3<sup>rd<\/sup>), Rita Talata Asobayire (4<sup>th<\/sup>), and Edmond Peprah (5<sup>th<\/sup>) respectively. Kiston Akomeng Kissi took the 6<sup>th<\/sup> position, with Derek Kwaku Nkansah (7<sup>th<\/sup>), Michael Omari Wadie (8<sup>th<\/sup>), Nuworsu Ken-Wuud (9<sup>th<\/sup>), and Alhaji Masawudu Osman (10<sup>th<\/sup>) in that order.<\/p>\n<p><strong>General Secretary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For the General Secretary position, the incumbent, John Boadu, picked the number one slot, with Iddrisu Musah taking the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> position on the ballot.<\/p>\n<p>Ramseyer Ahmed Agyeman-Prempeh picked the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> position on the ballot and he is followed by Charles Bissue (4<sup>th<\/sup>), Frederick Opare-Ansah (5<sup>th<\/sup>), and Justin Kodua Frimpong (6<sup>th<\/sup>) in that order.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Treasurer <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Candidates for the Treasurer post will be listed in this order on the voters\u2019 ballots: Eileen Mary Posch Oduro (1<sup>st<\/sup>), Dr. Charles Dwamena (2<sup>nd<\/sup>), Yussif Tedam (3<sup>rd<\/sup>), and Collins Nuamah (4<sup>th<\/sup>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Organiser<\/strong><br \/>Candidates for the National Organiser position \u00a0will appear in this order on the ballot: Bright Essilfie-Kumi \u00a0(1<sup>st<\/sup>), Seth Adu-Adjei (2<sup>nd<\/sup>), Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover (3<sup>rd<\/sup>), Eric Amoako Twum (4<sup>th<\/sup>), Henry Nana Boakye (5<sup>th<\/sup>), and Nana Owusu Fordjour (6<sup>th<\/sup>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women\u2019s Organiser<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For the Women\u2019s Organiser, Kate Gyamfua picked the 1<sup>st<\/sup> position, whilst Ellen Ama Daaku picked 2<sup>nd<\/sup> and Hajia Sawudatu Saeed picked 3<sup>rd<\/sup> position on the ballot.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Youth Organiser<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Candidates for the Youth Organiser will appear on the ballot in this order: Abanga Fusani Yakubu (1<sup>st<\/sup>), Salam Mohammed Mustapha (2<sup>nd<\/sup>), Prince Kamal Gumah (3<sup>rd<\/sup>), and Michael Osei Boateng (4<sup>th<\/sup>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nasara Coordinator<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Haruna Maiga picked the top slot of the ballot for the Nasara Coordinator position, and he will be followed by Abdul Rahman Diallo (2<sup>nd<\/sup>), Issaka Muaza Kunata (3<sup>rd<\/sup>), Awal Mohammed (4<sup>th<\/sup>), Sulemana Alhassan Atakpo (5<sup>th<\/sup>), Abdul Aziz Haruna Futa (6<sup>th<\/sup>), and Haruna Ismael (7<sup>th<\/sup>).<\/p>\n<p>Now that the candidates know their positions on the ballots, the Election Committee may go ahead to print the notice of poll and the ballot papers for the various positions.<\/p>\n<p>The balloting for positions for the national officers\u2019 elections, which was supervised by the Electoral Commission, was held behind closed doors.<\/p>\n<p>It is not clear whether the name-order will have any effects on the candidates, even though it has been suggested by some political scientists that candidates listed first enjoy favourable advantage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>By Ernest Kofi Adu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- AI CONTENT END 2 -->\n\t<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE Election Committee of the ruling New Patriotic (NPP) has qualified 48 candidates for the national officers\u2019 election slated for July 15 to 17, 2022 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
