\n Accra, June 27, GNA- Balloting for positions of aspirants for the national executive elections of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is underway behind closed doors.<\/p>\n

Party officials said “provisions” were not made for media coverage of the event, saying “there is no space.”<\/div>\n
Mr Evans Nimako, the Director of Elections and Research, NPP, told the Ghana News Agency that the media would be briefed after the exercise.<\/div>\n
The Electoral Commission is supervising the balloting.<\/div>\n
Journalists who arrived at the Party’s headoffice Monday morning to cover the exercise were prevented from entering the office.<\/div>\n
The NPP will hold its national executive elections at the Accra Sports Stadium on July 17, 2022.<\/div>\n
Representatives of some aspirants got to the Party head office before 1000 hours ahead of the exercise.<\/div>\n
Some aspirants are expected to take part in the balloting themselves.<\/div>\n
A total of 49 aspirants are contesting different positions – National Chairmanship, Vice Chairmanship, General Secretary, Organiser, Youth Organiser, Treasurer, Women\u2019sOrganiser and the NASARA Coordinator.<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
