\n Accra, June 22, GNA-The Ghana Shippers\u2019 Authority (GSA) has held a stakeholder consultative meeting in the Volta Regional capital, Ho, to forge collaboration with key state agencies to empower shippers in the Region.<\/p>\n

The meeting was attended by Volta Regional representatives from the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), the Volta Regional Coordinating Council, Ghana Export Promotion Authority, Plant Protection and Regulatory Services Directorate, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ghana Standards Authority, Food and Drugs Authority, and the Association of Ghana Industries, among others.<\/div>\n
The conversation largely centred on collaborative engagements with shippers in the region to improve the nation\u2019s trade facilitation as well as increase exports from the region.<\/div>\n
Mr. Charles Darling Sey, the Tema Branch Manager, GSA, said the Authority had resolved to partner with the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in the region to promote international trade.<\/div>\n
He said collaborating with other stakeholders to execute programmes and activities was one of the surest ways to go considering the limited resources available to individual organisations at the regional and district levels.<\/div>\n
\u201cWe need to come together to pool resources together to support shippers. The export potential of the region is huge, and we need to come up with strategies to encourage it,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n
The Tema Branch Manager said: \u201cWe at the GSA have a mandate to promote and protect the interest of shippers across the country but our work can be expedited if we have all of you supporting us and we also avail ourselves to support you.\u201d<\/div>\n
The stakeholder consultative meeting forms part of the Tema Branch\u2019s pursuit to foster collaboration and deepen cooperation amongst its stakeholders in the Volta Region.<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
