The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bortianor-Ngleshie-Amanfro and a former Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Sylvester Tetteh, is profusely denying having received double salary payment amounting to Ghs131,000.00 from the Controller and Accountant General\u2019s Department. <\/p>\n

He expressed deep upset with the allegation, describing this as untrue. \u201cI am greatly disappointed. I am a man of integrity. <\/p>\n
I have not drawn a double salary.” According to the Bortianor-Ngleshie-Amanfro Member of Parliament for the 26 months period that he was appointed and served as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority, he was never paid his salary. <\/p>\n
The Controller and Accountant General\u2019s Department only started processing his salary for serving as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority after he had been sworn in as a Member of Parliament. <\/p>\n
It is not only the Bortianor-Ngleshie-Amanfro lawmaker who has been cited for taking double salary. <\/p>\n
The Member of Parliament for Kintampo South, Alexander Gyan, the Pru West Member of Parliament, Stephen Jalula and the Salaga North Member of Parliament, Alhassan Iddi, have also been cited for taking double salary payments. <\/p>\n

Alexander Gyan, who was a District Chief Executive until he resigned to contest the parliamentary election and won, was paid extra Ghs119,004.45, which the Controller and Accountant General\u2019s Department has confirmed that he had subsequently returned \u2013 paid back. <\/p>\n
The Pru West Member of Parliament, Stephen Jalula, who was also paid an extra cash of Ghs119,000.00 had made a refund of the amount to the Controller and Accountant General\u2019s Department. <\/p>\n
Alhassan Iddi, the Salaga North Member of Parliament received excess amount of Ghs42,000.00 and this has been paid back. <\/p>\n
These lawmakers who were paid double salaries served as District Chief Executives and Chief Executive Officers before they got elected to parliament. <\/p>\n
Double payment of salaries has been an issue of grave concern for the majority of the Ghanaian population. <\/p>\n
