Prof. Cephas were not added.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Ablakwa said the press release from the National Cathedral Secretariat issued on Friday, June 17, which included the two clergymen, is untrue.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/1655829187_940_National-Cathedral1.jpeg\" alt=\"Heward-Mills, one other not included in National Cathedral's incorporation - Ablakwa\" class=\"wp-image-10032112945\" title=\"Heward-Mills, one other not included in National Cathedral's incorporation - Ablakwa\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThe two revered clergymen have at all material times been clearly left out, and substituted with the following names: Samuel Antwi and Kingsley Ofosu Ntiamoah.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne wonders if Bishop Dag Heward-Mills and Rev. Prof. Cephas Omenyo are aware that despite the public misrepresentations, their names have been patently omitted from the list of eminent registered directors?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The outspoken legislator, therefore, asked the Secretariat to be forthright with information on the matter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe list of falsehoods, misrepresentations, opacity, lawlessness, and blatant corruption associated with this cathedral project is now a bottomless pit.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Akufo-Addo\u2019s drowning cathedral in a sea of naked lies.<\/p>\n<p>Contrary to press release from the National Cathedral Secretariat, National Cathedral registered as PRIVATE not \u201cpublic and state-owned\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bishop Dag Heward Mills &#038; Rev. Cephas Omenyo missing in incorporation documents \/2 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/NP7Q5ottVv\">pic.twitter.com\/NP7Q5ottVv<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa (@S_OkudzetoAblak) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/S_OkudzetoAblak\/status\/1538987719950467072?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 20, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Ranking Member on Parliament\u2019s Foreign Affairs Committee also contradicted the claim by the Secretariat of the National Cathedral of Ghana that the project is state-owned.<\/p>\n<p>He contended that documents in his possession show that the project is a private entity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnother troubling falsehood we have detected is that even though the June 17 press release claims that the National Cathedral of Ghana is a \u201cstate-owned \u201d and thus a \u201cpublic and not a private\u201d entity, the incorporation documents in our possession reveal rather curiously that the National Cathedral of Ghana is registered as PRIVATE,\u201d he wrote on his Facebook wall on Monday, June 20.<\/p>\n<p>A seven-page statement by the Secretariat of the National Cathedral on June 17, explained that \u201cfor the avoidance of doubt, the National Cathedral is a National Monument and thus a public, not a private project.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLegally, the National Cathedral of Ghana is a state-owned  limited by guarantee, and was incorporated under the Companies Act, 1963 (Act 179) on July 18, 2019.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Executive Director of the National Cathedral of Ghana has confirmed that the construction of the religious edifice has stalled.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Paul Opoku-Mensah explained that the status quo can be attributed to \u201cthe vagaries of the fundraising\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement issued on Friday, he assured that construction would soon restart.<\/p>\n<p>However,\u00a0<strong>JoyNews<\/strong>\u00a0checks at the project site on Monday, June 13 showed that work on the project has reportedly stalled for the past three months.<\/p>\n<p>            <!--  [embed]https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=videoseries[\/embed]<!--\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>--><\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"aHEzgoRWmZo\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"C4C Medical College - Badwam Afisem on Adom TV (21-6-22)\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/aHEzgoRWmZo?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has disclosed that some members of the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral have been omitted in its incorporation.
