People marry for 30 years and get divorce, don\u2019t they? I\u2019ve known president since (19)76. There is no hatred but I\u2019ve learnt to move on and go my separate way because at the end pf the day that is what life is.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMe, I will never let anybody bring me so low to hate him because I don\u2019t hate anybody but there comes a time when circumstances make it that you\u2019ve to go your way, you\u2019ve to move on,\u201d Mr. Agyarko said these when speaking on Asempa FM\u2019s Ekosii sen show on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Talking about his relieve from office as a minister, he mentioned that \u201ci was called by the Chief of Staff that the President said he can\u2019t work with me anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to him, he will turn down any appointment to serve in the Akufo-Addo government again since he is currently focused on his presidential ambition.<\/p>\n<p>He said he is working to become the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and to eventually become president of Ghana, hence would not want any other thing to distract him.<\/p>\n<p>Boakye Agyarko believes he is deserving of being Ghana\u2019s next president and will commit fully to it, although many people have advised him against it.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that he has moved on, having served in the Akufo-Addo government with all his might.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am pursuing my own presidential ambition, for which a lot of people kicked against right from the beginning. I will not abandon it to go and do any other thing. I am focused on what I have to do for myself and my nation. That is my focus. If you serve with all your strength and the person doesn\u2019t appreciate it, you move on. If I cannot give something a hundred percent, I will not do it. I\u2019m I not deserving of being the flagbearer of the NPP?\u201d the 66-year-old quizzed.<\/p>\n<p>President Akufo-Addo removed Boakye Agyarko from his post as Energy Minister in 2018 over the Ameri energy deal scandal and since that incident, the relationship between the two has been rumoured to be frosty.<\/p>\n<p>With President Akufo-Addo completing his second 4-year mandate in 2024, many are lacing their boots to contest the NPP\u2019s upcoming presidential primaries.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from Boakye Agyarko, Trade and Industry Minister, Alan Kyerematen, Minister of Agric, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia are also said to be preparing to officially announce their bids to lead the NPP into the next election.<\/p>\n<p><strong>By Vincent Kubi<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- AI CONTENT END 2 -->\n\t<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko has disclosed that he has ceased talking to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo because he betrayed him.
