The tragic tragedy occurred in Meduma, a village in Ashanti\u2019s Kwabere East District.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old went down the abandoned well after his mother poured 300ghc into it while discarding the trash, according to the information acquired by the police.<\/p>\n

Residents claim that the dry well has turned into a trap after it was abandoned since it was unable to generate water as expected.<\/p>\n

Bright Owoahene Acheampong, also known as Akwasi Broni, cried for aid when he fell into the well.<\/p>\n

Her mother heard her son\u2019s cries and asked for aid from her neighbours. The well claimed another victim when a local attempted to jump in.<\/p>\n

As the situation worsened, several locals sought assistance from the National Fire Service.<\/p>\n

It was too late for Akwasi Broni, who was rescued by officials from the Mampongteng police station.<\/p>\n

Shortly after the two arrived at the hospital, Akwasi Broni was tragically declared dead by doctors.<\/p>\n

He ignored his mother\u2019s warnings before trying to rescue the 300ghc from an abandoned well, which has since been confirmed by investigators\u2019 findings<\/p>\n

Residents are now pushing for the well to be covered up after the event.<\/p>\n
