After placing third in the 2022 Kirin Cup event in Japan, the Black Stars of Ghana were awarded $50,000.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

After losing 4-1 to Japan in their opening match, the Black Stars went on to overcome Chile in the third-place match, winning the bronze medal on penalties.<\/p>\n

It was a penalty shootout that gave the four-time African champions a 3-1 victory over the Chileans following a goalless first half.<\/p>\n

For the FIFA World Cup, Japan planned a four-nation event called the Kirin Cup as a warm-up competition for the tournament in November and December of 2022, which will feature Ghana, Tunisia and Japan\u2019s Samurai Blues.<\/p>\n

Nigeria were eliminated by Ghana in the final playoff games to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.<\/p>\n

Portugal, South Korea, and Uruguay round up the rest of Group H, which also includes the Black Stars.<\/p>\n
