{"id":1121961,"date":"2022-06-14T17:25:42","date_gmt":"2022-06-14T17:25:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/06\/14\/akropong-constituency-court-dismisses-two-suits-filed-by-pro-mp-supporters\/"},"modified":"2022-06-14T17:25:42","modified_gmt":"2022-06-14T17:25:42","slug":"akropong-constituency-court-dismisses-two-suits-filed-by-pro-mp-supporters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/06\/14\/akropong-constituency-court-dismisses-two-suits-filed-by-pro-mp-supporters\/","title":{"rendered":"Akropong Constituency:\u00a0 Court dismisses two suits filed by Pro-MP supporters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\">\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"465\" class=\"entry-thumb\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Akuapem-North-MP-696x465.jpg\"   alt=\"\" title=\"Akuapem North MP\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah Adjei<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>   <!--  --><\/p>\n<p>A Koforidua High Court (Court Room 3) presided over by His Lordship Justice Senyo\u00a0 Amedahie has dismissed a suit filed against two Akropong Constituency impending elections aspirants, describing it as unmeritorious<\/p>\n<p>The plaintiff, Adum Acheampong, a former\u00a0 NPP Constituency Chairman of Akropong\u00a0 Constituency was for the second time absent in court when the case was called.<\/p>\n<p>Also absent was his Counsel.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0A representative of the Plaintiff sought an audience of the court and pleaded for an adjournment as he claimed the plaintiff was a bit under the weather but the court rejected the plea for another adjournment.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>The suit challenged the eligibility of Julius Akuffo and Linda Dankwa to contest for any position in the Constituency on the tickets of NPP.<\/p>\n<p>The court found no merit in the claims against the defendants and has accordingly dismissed the suit for want of liability.<\/p>\n<p>The Defendants, NPP and the two others, Julius Akuffo Djan and Linda Darkwa who were represented by Lawyer Gary Nimako Marfo were however present in court.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dismissal of Injunction on Constituency Election<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a related development, the Koforidua High Court (room 4) in a case presided over by His Lordship Nana Yaw Gyamfi Frimpong has dismissed an injunction placed on the Akropong North Constituency elections.<\/p>\n<p>The injunction was filed by two petitioners, Emelia Awuku of Larteh Akaade Number One and Godfred Ampadu of Daakye Akropong.<\/p>\n<p>The petitioners before the court ruling today had filed a process to strike out the case at the court.<\/p>\n<p>Regardless, counsel for the defendants, Gary Nimako Esq. insisted the case be properly be dismissed by the court for sake of clarity and directions.<\/p>\n<p>The presiding judge accordingly dismissed the injunction suit paving a way for the conduct of the long-awaited Akropong Constituency NPP elections.<\/p>\n<p>            <!--  [embed]https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=videoseries[\/embed]<!--\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
