This title was given to the medieval Ghana Empire in West Africa but not today\u2019s Ghana. The empire consists of the Republic of Mali, Senegal, Southern Mauritania, and also a region of Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>Some Ghanaians also believe that the name \u201cGhana\u201d stands for \u201cGod Has Appointed Nkrumah Already\u201d. This name came about when the first president of Ghana, Osaagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah fought and won independence for Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>Well, according to Kofi Kinaata, the name \u201cGhana\u201d stands for \u201cGod Has Appointed Nurudeen Already\u201d.
