The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Aseidu Nketiah, says the opposition party is committed to rescuing Ghanaians from the NPP\u2019s poor governance in 2024.<\/p>\n
The NDC General Secretary said the governing party has proven not to care about the average Ghanaian.<\/p>\n
He said this at an event held on Friday, June 10, 2022, to mark the 30th anniversary of the NDC.<\/p>\n
At the event, Mr. Nketiah said present situations are indicative of how badly the governing party has performed.<\/p>\n
He expressed the NDC\u2019s commitment to \u201crescuing Ghanaians from NPP\u2019s bad leadership.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe [the NDC] adopted the slogan of a rescue mission for 2020 elections. Unfortunately, that mission was not quite accomplished, but developments since then have made it more imperative for us to continue with the agenda to rescue this country.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd for anyone who doubts whether it is necessary to rescue the country at all, I leave you with a word from Professor Joseph Stiglitz, a professor at the Columbia University in his book \u2018The price of inequality: How today\u2019s divided society endangers our future\u2019. The Professor stated, \u2018When you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing \u2013 When you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favours \u2013 When you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don\u2019t protect you against them, but protect them against you \u2013 When you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice \u2013 You may know that your society is doomed\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
