Image Source: Olympique Lyonnais<br \/>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>   <!--  --><\/p>\n<p>Lacazette returns to the French club on a three-year deal until June 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette has re-signed for Lyon on a free transfer \u2013 five years after leaving to join the Gunners for a then club record \u00a346.5m.<\/p>\n<p>The France forward scored 54 times in 158 Premier League appearances for Arsenal and helped the Gunners win the 2020 FA Cup final.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to\u00a0Canal Plus\u00a0in April, Lacazette said he had \u201cnever cut contact\u201d with hometown club Lyon.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>Lyon said they were \u201cvery proud and very happy\u201d to announce Lacazette\u2019s return to the club he joined at the age of 12, adding a deal \u201chas been the club\u2019s priority for several months\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Lacazette, 31, rose through the youth teams at Lyon and scored 129 goals in 275 matches in all competitions for them after breaking into the first team in the 2009-10 campaign.<\/p>\n<p>He was\u00a0signed by Arsene Wenger in 2017\u00a0with the deal \u2013 up to \u00a352.6m with add-ons \u2013 surpassing the \u00a342.4m Arsenal paid Real Madrid for Mesut Ozil in 2013.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/_125017665_gettyimages-809270616.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Arsene Wenger was manager of Arsenal when Alexandre Lacazette signed in 2017<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>With Lacazette\u2019s contract expiring at the end of June, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta admitted in April that Arsenal took a risk in delaying talks with the player about a new deal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is the agreement that we made with him.
