{"id":1115252,"date":"2022-06-08T21:55:10","date_gmt":"2022-06-08T21:55:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/06\/08\/we-need-more-togbe-afedes-bridget-otoo\/"},"modified":"2022-06-08T21:55:10","modified_gmt":"2022-06-08T21:55:10","slug":"we-need-more-togbe-afedes-bridget-otoo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/06\/08\/we-need-more-togbe-afedes-bridget-otoo\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;We Need More Togbe Afede\u2019s&#8221; &#8211; Bridget Otoo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<article>\n<p>After returning over Ghc365,000 ex-gratia paid to his account for his 4-year service, the former member of Council of State, Togbe Afede XIV has been applauded by many Ghanaians. <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.87);\">The\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: rgb(33, 37, 41);\">Paramount Chief and the Agbogbomefia of Asogli <\/span>on Monday, 6th June, 2022 released a press statement on the said amount which he refunded to the state.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.87);\">Togbe Afede XIV made it clear in the statement <\/span>that it is not appropriate to receive such an amount when he already took monthly salaries for serving on the Council.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/7640e8a9bd814279a0489d85bb7e0b45\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The press statement went viral as Ghanaians can&#8217;t stop praising Togbe Afede XIV for refunding the money to the state.<\/p>\n<p>In a post sighted on Bridget Otoo&#8217;s Twitter page, she has stated that Ghanaians need more Togbe Afede&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p>Her tweet reads; &#8220;We need more Togbe Afede\u2019s&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/9ca46ae2fef245dfa9f6af116d179482\"\/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/2896cc87c403498ba715c50d3bccf9c6\"\/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Togbe Afede XIV<\/strong> is the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, President of Asogli Traditional Area, and former President of the National House of Chiefs.<\/p>\n<p>He was born as James Akpo in\u00a0Ho\u00a0on 23 April 1957 to\u00a0Corporal\u00a0Patrick Akpo and Madam Rose Anyawoe. His twin brother, Philip, passed away at a young age.<\/p>\n<p>He began his education at Ho Bankoe Roman Catholic Boys School in 1961 and then entered\u00a0Kpedze\u00a0Secondary School in 1969, successfully completing his\u00a0GCE &#8220;O&#8221;Level in 1974. He then proceeded to\u00a0Labone Secondary School\u00a0in\u00a0Accra\u00a0where he excelled in the\u00a0<span style=\"color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.87);\">GCE &#8220;O&#8221;Level <\/span>examination in 1976.<\/p>\n<p>Togbe Afede XIV is an alumnus of\u00a0University of Ghana\u00a0where he obtained a\u00a0Bachelor of Business Administration\u00a0qualification in\u00a0Accounting\u00a0in 1979. He also holds an\u00a0MBA\u00a0from the\u00a0Yale School of Management\u00a0in 1989.<\/p>\n<p>Togbe is the executive chairman of World Trade Centre Accra and was voted member of the Board of Directors of the World Trade Centre in 2015. Togbe founded SAS Finance Group Ltd, constituting Strategic African Securities Ltd, a stock brokerage and corporate finance advisory firm, and SAS Investment Management Ltd, an asset management firm.
