{"id":1105832,"date":"2022-05-31T20:13:28","date_gmt":"2022-05-31T20:13:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/05\/31\/abronye-retains-npp-bono-regional-chairmanship-position\/"},"modified":"2022-05-31T20:13:28","modified_gmt":"2022-05-31T20:13:28","slug":"abronye-retains-npp-bono-regional-chairmanship-position","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/05\/31\/abronye-retains-npp-bono-regional-chairmanship-position\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Abronye\u2019 retains NPP Bono Regional Chairmanship position"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"font-size: 17px;\">\n                                                   Sunyani, May 30, GNA &#8211; Mr Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as \u2018Abronye\u2019, the incumbent Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), polled 126 votes to retain his chairmanship position.<\/p>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/1.21488926.jpg\" width=\"100%\" height=\"\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" class=\"kMediaObject\"\/><\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">He beat his sole challenger, Mr\u202fKonlaabig Rasheed, who obtained 80 votes, in a highly-tensed regional executives\u2019 election, conducted and supervised by the regional office of the Electoral Commission, at the Catholic Pastoral Centre in Sunyani.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">Mr Joseph Mensah, the incumbent First-Vice Chairman, also retained his position with 149 votes, beating the other three opponents;\u202fNana Atta Fena, 18 votes, Kwadwo Agyekum, 22 votes, and\u202fPrince Kofi Nchira, 17.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">The Second Vice-Chairmanship position was won by Kate Nana Yaa Amponsah Agyare, who polled 106 votes as against 101 by her contender, Henry Oppong.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">Mr Kofi Ofosu Boateng, the incumbent Secretary, garnered 108 ballots to beat two other opponents, Franklin Osei-Antwi, 68 votes and Ebenezer Asare Baffour, 30 votes.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">The Assistant Secretary position went to Mr Isaac Kwame Benkae who won with 98 votes to beat three other challengers, Ebenezer Anane, 48 votes, Stephen Opuni Anane, 17, and Randy Ashraf, 43.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">Mr Evans Afari Gyan Yeboah had 115 votes to win the Organiser position, defeating Darlington Bill Boampong, 13 votes and Bashiru Hassan Adams, 78 votes.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">Madam Doris Asomah obtained 142 votes to beat the incumbent Women\u2019s Organiser, Mrs Dorothy Ama Amponsah, who had 65 votes.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">Abdul-Razack Oppong obtained\u202f130 votes to win the Youth Organiser\u2019s position, defeating Shadrach Abrefa Mensah, who had 76.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">The Treasurer position was won by Alhaji Issaka Issa  with 125 votes, beating\u202f Anthony Yeboah, who got 82.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">Alhaji Osman Faisal won the Nasara Coordinator position after polling 111 votes to beat Alhaji Bashiru Wahab, who had 93.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">Earlier in a pre-voting address, Madam Justina Owusu-Banahene, the Bono Regional Minister, exhorted the delegates and contestants to prioritise the interest of the Party for the general good of the Ghanaian populace.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">\u201cThe election is only an internal one serving as part of the route to go to other equally important elections like the national executives to prepare the ground well for the Party to go to Election 2024,\u201d she said.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">\u201cWhoever wins is a victory for all\u201d.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">She stressed the need for a united front, saying: \u201cWe must all cooperate and support the executives and also execute our individual responsibilities accordingly to ensure victory in 2024\u201d.<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sunyani, May 30, GNA &#8211; Mr Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as \u2018Abronye\u2019, the incumbent Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), polled 126 votes to retain his chairmanship position.
