{"id":1105438,"date":"2022-05-31T14:11:39","date_gmt":"2022-05-31T14:11:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/05\/31\/adwoa-safo-must-be-sacked-immediately-whats-so-special-about-her\/"},"modified":"2022-05-31T14:11:39","modified_gmt":"2022-05-31T14:11:39","slug":"adwoa-safo-must-be-sacked-immediately-whats-so-special-about-her","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/05\/31\/adwoa-safo-must-be-sacked-immediately-whats-so-special-about-her\/","title":{"rendered":"Adwoa Safo must be sacked immediately; what&#8217;s so special about her?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/4039966315082_8995989518602.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Mpraeso Member of Parliament (MP), Davis Opoku Ansah, has called for the immediate dismissal of Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Sarah Adwoa Safo.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=1QNitEUSfpQ\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=1QNitEUSfpQ<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The lawmaker believes Miss Safo, who doubles as Dome-Kwabenya MP, has been absent from duty for a long time and the time is due for her replacement.<\/p>\n<p>The MP\u2019s comment comes a few days after his colleague called the bluff of persons demanding her dismissal after being out of the country for almost a year.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>Speaking in an interview on <strong>Joy News\u2019 The Pulse<\/strong>,  the Minister indicated that nobody can sack her from the ministerial position, except President Nana Akufo-Addo.<\/p>\n<p>She stressed the prerogative to hire and fire in government is solely that of the President, adding the latter is aware of her condition and wouldn\u2019t allow it if she had no just reasons.<\/p>\n<p>But on Asempa FM\u2019s <strong>Ekosii Sen<\/strong>, Mr Ansah stated Miss Safo is taking the party and government for granted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe is a minister of state, appointed to serve the people of Ghana and has been out of office for almost two years now. I feel the time is now for her to be relieved of her job.
