<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>A leading member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has revealed what he claims was the winning formula for Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman \u2018Wontumi\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Joseph Yamin alleged that, the embattled Chairman wooed delegates with GH\u00a25,000 each at the just ended regional executive elections.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman Wontumi, after a fierce battle on Saturday, May 28, 2022, secured his third term.<\/p>\n<p>He polled 464\u00a0votes against that of his closest contender, Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA), who got\u00a0306\u00a0votes.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>His victory shocked many political pundits who had predicted defeat for the vociferous NPP Regional Chairman.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large td-caption-align-https:\/\/www.adomonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Joseph-Yamin_02-scaled.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"833\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Joseph-Yamin_02-1024x833.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2119801\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>But Mr Yamin on Adom FM\u2019s morning show, <strong>Dwaso Nsem<\/strong> programme Monday said Wontumi\u2019s victory is financially motivated.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that, because majority of the delegates are NABCO trainees and School Feeding Coordinators \u201cwho are hungry\u201d due to non-payment of their monies by government, they fell for the bait.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWontumi gave each delegate GH\u00a25,000 and it was countered by Odeneho so he topped it up with GH\u00a240,000 to each constituency to cement his victory,\u201d Mr Yamin alleged.<\/p>\n<p>The NDC man, who is aspiring to be a National Organiser, said he is not surprised at the conduct of the aspirants since every NPP election is characterised by money sharing.<\/p>\n<p>This notwithstanding, Mr Yamin said it is good news for the NDC since happenings in the NPP is an indication that, they are going into opposition.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large td-caption-align-https:\/\/www.adomonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Titus-Glover.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"751\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Titus-Glover-1024x751.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2119836\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>In a rebuttal, former Member of Parliament for Tema East, Daniel Nii Kwatei Titus-Glover, pooh poohed Mr Yamin\u2019s claims.<\/p>\n<p>He said his wild allegation is part of a grand scheme by the NDC to court bad press for the NPP.<\/p>\n<p>The former Tema East MP maintained that, no such monies were shared at the elections because the delegates voted based on party interest.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Titus-Glover urged Ghanaians to disregard such palpable falsehood and support government accelerate Ghana\u2019s socio-economic development.<\/p>\n<p> <!-- [embed]https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=videoseries[\/embed]<!--\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>--><\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"r9O7Rsv-J84\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Confusion rocks Bono delegates confab as EC blocks 3 constituencies over injunction (30-5-22)\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/r9O7Rsv-J84?feature=oembed&enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A leading member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has revealed what he claims was the winning formula for Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman \u2018Wontumi\u2019.
