Martha Asare is the CEO of Martha\u2019s Beauty Supply and Braiding Inc, located in Bolingbrook, Chicago, one of the biggest beauty shops in the area.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In an interview on SVTV Africa, Martha shared her success story with host DJ Nyaami. She revealed that upon her arrival, she decided to make her passion her profession.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to Martha, she took time off to learn a skill before travelling abroad. Martha stayed in Germany for five years before settling in Chicago.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI worked in a warehouse, nursing home about two years before setting the business. I decided to use my talent to set up a business, and my brother helped me.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I used the income I got from braiding to buy beauty products. Many people discouraged me, but I did not give up,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Martha shared some of the challenges involved in establishing a business in the USA. She disclosed that, unlike in Ghana, she had to go through many processes to obtain a business license.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been thirteen years since I launched it. I have about 15 permanent workers. We sell and supply all beauty products, and I still do the braiding, as well,\u201d she said on Daily Hustle Worldwide.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Moreover, Mrs Asare has two other shops in Accra and Kumasi. She advised the youth to focus on making their talent a profession if they don’t get an education.\u00a0<\/p>\n
