Gospel musician, Empress Gifty, has been chosen as a brand ambassador for Ghana\u2019s Ministry of National Security\u2019s terrorism awareness campaign.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Ministry\u2019s campaign is dubbed\u00a0\u201cIf You See Something, Say Something.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The campaign is focused on making the Ghanaian public more sensitive about terrorism and preventing the country from being attacked.<\/p>\n

As part of measures to ensure citizens participate in this campaign, there has been a toll-free number \u2013 999 \u2013 made available so anyone could call when they notice any unusual happening.<\/p>\n

The Ministry has also indicated that the phone numbers and social media handles of the security agencies could be reached when any uncommon incident is seen.<\/p>\n

Empress Gifty has pointed out that she appreciates the honour done her by the Ministry as it selected her as one of the Ambassadors to champion the terrorism awareness campaign in Ghana.<\/p>\n

According to her, it is the duty of every Ghanaian to participate in the \u2018See Something, Say Something\u2019 campaign to ensure that Ghana\u2019s security is safeguarded.<\/p>\n

The award-winning musician emphasized that everyone must partake in the campaign to help the security agencies remove unscrupulous persons from the country.<\/p>\n

Ghana is globally renowned as an oasis of peace and security. Recently, authorities in Ghana have been increasingly worried following a spate of terrorist attacks in neighbouring countries and lingering political and ethnic tensions.<\/p>\n

The 2022 Global Terrorism Index from Australia\u2019s Institute for Economics and Peace shows that the Sahel has become a global epicentre for violent extremism, with Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger accounting for three of the 10 countries with the largest increases in terrorism-related deaths in 2021.<\/p>\n

Recent attacks in neighbouring Togo and C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire reveal that the threat is growing, leading Ghanaian authorities to raise the alarm.<\/p>\n
