A former National Democratic Congress Regional <\/span><\/span>Secretary<\/span><\/span> in the Ashanti Region, Joseph <\/span><\/span>Yamin, <\/span><\/span>has filed an injunction application to stop the governing New Patriotic Party, from holding <\/span><\/span>its<\/span><\/span> regio<\/span><\/span>nal delegates conference at the <\/span><\/span>Regional <\/span><\/span>Coordinating Council.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Regional Coordinating Councils serve as both the administrative offices of Regional Ministers and also as their official residences as well.<\/p>\n

The NPP in the region had scheduled to hold the conference on Friday at the premises of the Regional Coordinating Council. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

But in an <\/span><\/span>exparte<\/span><\/span> injunction application, <\/span><\/span>Mr.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Yamin<\/span><\/span> is asking the court to restrain the party from holding the conference at that venue. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span><\/span>court <\/span><\/span>is<\/span><\/span> expected<\/span><\/span> to hear <\/span><\/span>his<\/span><\/span> argument today, Thursday.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

But in <\/span><\/span>what <\/span><\/span>seems<\/span><\/span> like a <\/span><\/span>pre-emptive move, <\/span><\/span>the election committee <\/span><\/span>of the NPP <\/span><\/span>has changed the venue from the Regional Coordinating Council to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In an interview with Citi News<\/b><\/span><\/span>,<\/b><\/span><\/span> Secretary to the NPP\u2019s Elections Committee in the Ashanti Region, <\/span><\/span>Henry Kwabena <\/span><\/span>Kokofu,<\/span><\/span> indicated that the date for the conference has since been changed from Friday to Saturday.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYesterday [Thursday], the Committee had a meeting, and judging from developments from some few days back, we have reached a decision to change the venue from the RCC to the Kumasi Sports Stadium, and then also, instead of tomorrow [Friday], we are going for 28th, that is Saturday.\u201d<\/p>\n
