The late Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie popularly called Sir John<\/strong><\/p>\n A document purported to be a will of the late Chief Executive Officer of the Forestry Commission, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie popularly called Sir John had included some portions of the Achimota Forest land has hit the public space.<\/p>\n The document circulating is a copy of the Will that a notary has supposedly verified and certified (stamped and signed) as a true copy of the original document.<\/p>\n It came with a date as 2\/8\/ 2021 and stamp date on which the copy of the original document was issued.<\/p>\n The document in circulation was reportedly tendered as evidence in Court by Mrs Agnes Owusu-Afriyie, aka Akosua Darkoah, the London-based estranged wife of Sir John, who claims she wasn\u2019t recognized in the Will and wants the terms revised to her benefit.<\/p>\n The document listed properties such as It also read \u201cI jointly own a piece of land at Achimota Forest with Charles Owusu. Upon my demise, my portion of the said land should be given to Ruth Korkor Odonkor.\u201d<\/p>\n Furthermore \u201cI give my portion of land that jointly own at the Achimota Forest in the name of DML Limited to Elizabeth Asare Boateng who at the time of making this Will is domiciled in the USA forever.\u201d<\/p>\n He stated again in the Will that he owned land at the Ramsar area in Sakumono in Accra.<\/p>\n \u201cI give my land situate at the Ramsar area at Sakumono in the Greater Accra Region and measuring 5.07 acres to my sisters Abena Saah and her children, Comfort Amoateng and her children, Abena Konadu and Juliet Akua Arko and her children on equal share basis forever,\u201d it read among others.<\/p>\n This has compeled the the Ministry of Land and Natural Resources to initiate investigation into the Will.<\/p>\n Members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been spreading a supposed parts of Sir John\u2019s Will on social media with an indication that some parts of the Achimota Forest had been allocated to some of his family members.<\/p>\n Though the authenticity of the document cannot be ascertained the NDC members kept sharing on various social media platforms.<\/p>\n This compelled the Lands Ministry to take over investigation of the doucment in order to authenticate it since Sir John didn\u2019t become Chief Executive Officer of the Forestry Commission under his tenure.<\/p>\n By Vincent Kubi<\/strong><\/p>\n \n\t<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The late Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie popularly called Sir John A document purported to be a will of the late Chief Executive Officer of the Forestry Commission, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie popularly called Sir John had included some portions of the Achimota Forest land has hit the public space.
