– –<\/span> Halima Yunusa sued her father for refusing to agree to her marriage to Bashir Yusuf.<\/p>\n Monday, a court in Magajin Gari, Kaduna State, heard the case.<\/p>\n Yunusa, from Kasuwan Magani, Chikun Local Government Area, told the court she loved Yusuf but her parents wouldn\u2019t allow them marry.<\/p>\n – –<\/span> Ibrahim, Yunusa\u2019s businessman father, acknowledged to the court he knew about their \u201cintense love\u201d<\/p>\n He said that the young guy hadn\u2019t finished all marital procedures, thus he didn\u2019t give him his daughter\u2019s hand.<\/p>\n – –<\/span> \u00a0<\/strong>\u201cHe came to me and expressed his desire to marry my daughter. I told him to come back with his parents and family members.<\/p>\n \u201cHe is yet to return. After about a year.<\/p>\n \u201cHe came back after a year and took my daughter and ran away with her for three days.<\/p>\n \u201cWe later heard they came back and went to my sister\u2019s house.<\/p>\n \u201cWe informed the Police and both of were arrested and disciplined,\u201d\u00a0Ibrahim told the court, as quoted by NAN.<\/p>\n The businessman continued that after the release of the two love birds from police custody, they ran away again to spend two weeks in Abuja.<\/p>\n \u201cBut when I finally met with the boy\u2019s father and had several discussions, he (boy\u2019s father), said he would not allow his son to marry my daughter.<\/p>\n \u201cAt last, the boyfriend\u2019s father later took us to the district head of our village where agreement were drafted and signed by all of us and our witnesses to caution my daughter to stay away from his son,\u201d Ibrahim recounted.<\/p>\n Having examined both sides of the matter, the Judge, Murtala Nasir held that Yusuf\u2019s father should be advised to allow his son, Yusuf, to marry Yunusa, whose father, in principle, is not against the marriage.<\/p>\n The judge warned, \u201cIf he refuses, we will get them married in the court even without his blessings,\u201d\u00a0and then adjourned the case until May 23, when Yusuf\u2019s father is expected to appear before the court for final judgment.<\/p>\n However, Nasir advised Yunusa to reconcile with her parents and relatives and seek forgiveness and blessings.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n – –<\/span> – – A Nigerian Sharia Court ordered two young lovers to marry or it would do so without their parent\u2019s approval.
