{"id":1094095,"date":"2022-05-20T17:24:55","date_gmt":"2022-05-20T17:24:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/05\/20\/bundesliga-dortmund-sack-coach-after-one-year\/"},"modified":"2022-05-20T17:24:55","modified_gmt":"2022-05-20T17:24:55","slug":"bundesliga-dortmund-sack-coach-after-one-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/05\/20\/bundesliga-dortmund-sack-coach-after-one-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Bundesliga: Dortmund Sack Coach After One Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Head coach Marco Rose has left Borussia Dortmund after just one year in charge, the Bundesliga runners-up said on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Borussia Dortmund and Rose \u201cended their collaboration\u201d following an \u201cintensive analysis of the season\u201d, the club said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>The team had \u201cnot gotten the most out of our potential in a number of areas\u201d, Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke said.<\/p>\n<p>Rose said he was still convinced by his plans for Dortmund, but saw that he did not have the \u201c100 per cent\u201d backing of the club.<\/p>\n<p>Dortmund finished second in the Bundesliga in the 2021-2022 season, trailing Bayern Munich by eight points.<\/p>\n<p>Dortmund struggled to pressure Bayern, who eased to their tenth consecutive title. They also failed to advance from their Champions League group stage where they met Ajax, Sporting and Besiktas.<\/p>\n<p>Rose\u2019s side subsequently lost to eventual finalists Rangers in the knockout stages of UEFA\u2019s second competition, the Europa League.<\/p>\n<p>The expectations were high for Rose, who joined Dortmund from Borussia Moenchengladbach last year.<\/p>\n<p>The team would discuss their future coaching team internally \u201cover the coming days\u201d, the club said.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>AFP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- AI CONTENT END 2 -->\n\t<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0 Head coach Marco Rose has left Borussia Dortmund after just one year in charge, the Bundesliga runners-up said on Friday.
