The member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency Honaroble Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa following the death trending news of Albert Donkor’s death in the hands of police has asserted that the Ghana Police Service needs to be purged. <\/p>\n

In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Monday, 16th May 2022, he wrote;<\/p>\n

“Ghana\u2019s human rights credentials would continue to deteriorate if citizens in police custody are increasingly killed with such despicable impunity.<\/strong><\/p>\n

All true patriots must stand with the people of Nkoranza to demand justice for Albert Donkor.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Ghana Police Service needs a purge<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

The comments of Okudzeto Ablakwa comes as a background to the death of Albert Donkor, a native of Nkoranza in police custody. On the 25 April, 2022 at exactly 1:00 am midnight, the late Albert Donkor was picked up at his mother\u2019s residence at Kasadjan in the Nkoranza Municipality by the Ghana Police Service on suspicion of robbery that had occurred on the Nkoranza-Kintampo road. <\/p>\n

It is said that he was denied access to lawyer of his choice and members of his family were also denied from getting access to him only to be told be the police that he is dead. <\/p>\n
