Deborah Samuel was brutally murdered in Sokoto State, according to Sheikh Ahmad Gumi.\u00a0<\/p>\n

For alleged blasphemy, the Shehu Shagari College of Education student was stoned and burned alive.<\/p>\n

Despite non-Muslim criticism, Gumi claims that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) never killed anyone.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The cleric made the remark during a religious sermon at his Kaduna mosque, Juma’at.<\/p>\n

According to a statement translated by PRNigeria, Gumi remarked that the best way for Muslims to show their love for the Prophet is to follow his words.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The preacher reminded its residents that Nigeria, as a secular state, is not controlled by religious law.<\/p>\n

“Anyone who murders a non-Muslim with whom they have promised to live peacefully for 40 years will not smell the fragrance of Paradise,” he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Sheikh stressed that no one in Islam has the authority to make laws and admonished Islamic leaders from inciting their people.<\/p>\n

“If we assume that by executing Deborah, individuals who do not share our faith will cease disrespecting our prophet, we are delusory,” he added.<\/p>\n
