{"id":1086164,"date":"2022-05-13T13:38:44","date_gmt":"2022-05-13T13:38:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/05\/13\/everything-is-increasing-except-salaries-actress-lydia-forson-laments\/"},"modified":"2022-05-13T13:38:44","modified_gmt":"2022-05-13T13:38:44","slug":"everything-is-increasing-except-salaries-actress-lydia-forson-laments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/05\/13\/everything-is-increasing-except-salaries-actress-lydia-forson-laments\/","title":{"rendered":"Everything Is Increasing Except Salaries \u2013 Actress, Lydia Forson Laments |"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Actress Lydia Forson has added her voice to the dissent views being expressed by Ghanaians owing to the decline in the standard of living under the tutelage of Nana Akufo Addo as prices of goods and services keep skyrocketing.<\/p>\n<p>Her comment follows the shocking revelation made by the management\u00a0of the Ghana Water\u00a0Company (GWCL) proposing to the\u00a0Public Utilities Regulatory Commission\u00a0(PURC) to increase\u00a0water\u00a0tariffs.<\/p>\n<p>This was preceded by the same announcement made by the Ghana Electricity of Ghana which intends to have proposed a 148% increment for 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0power distribution company is apparently seeking upward adjustment\u00a0of its tariff in order to reduce the frequent power outage which is popularly known as dumsor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe objective underpinning this Tariff Proposal is to obtain a cost-reflective tariff that will enable GRIDCo improve the service levels and quality thresholds, and importantly enhance the company\u2019s sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>It has become increasingly expensive to maintain the legacy assets and upgrade the transmission infrastructure to reduce congestions within the National Interconnected Transmission System (NITS),\u201d\u00a0GRIDCo said in the proposal.<\/p>\n<p>In this regard, the outspoken Ghanaian actress said apart from everything rising astronomically, salaries have remained the same.<em><strong> \u201cEverything is increasing except salaries,\u201d<\/strong><\/em> she said in a fresh post shared on Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>Agreeing to the post, @Mr_Dadzie tweeted wrote. <em><strong>\u201cChale\u2026 I don\u2019t think I can survive on my salary till the month-end even.
