In Good Morning Ghana, Eric Twum talks about democracy and government policy implementation. Here’s what he had to say;<\/p>\n

Even talking about e-levy, we have outlined a certain process a bill goes through to be passed as a law. The same constitution allows you to decide on a 4-year tenure.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The people who sat down to draft the constitution and realized that allowing 30 million people will be chaotic.<\/strong><\/p>\n

So, there’s a defect in a democratic system.<\/strong><\/p>\n

All I am saying is, that once you disagree with a public decision or policy, the constitution gives room for that.<\/strong><\/p>\n

So unless someone can convince me that there’s another way of governing ourselves that is a true representation of the people, I’m still where I am.<\/strong><\/p>\n

So when people say the masses or public opinion are against the ruling of a government, I see it to be funny.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We don’t run this country on polls, we run it based on systems with the democratic dispensation we have agreed to<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
