{"id":1076364,"date":"2022-05-04T19:35:35","date_gmt":"2022-05-04T19:35:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/05\/04\/call-annor-dompreh-to-order-solomon-owusu-to-npps-complaints-committee-politics\/"},"modified":"2022-05-04T19:35:35","modified_gmt":"2022-05-04T19:35:35","slug":"call-annor-dompreh-to-order-solomon-owusu-to-npps-complaints-committee-politics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/05\/04\/call-annor-dompreh-to-order-solomon-owusu-to-npps-complaints-committee-politics\/","title":{"rendered":"Call Annor Dompreh To Order \u2013 Solomon Owusu To NPP\u2019s Complaints Committee | Politics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>A member of the\u00a0New Patriotic Party(NPP) Solomon Owusu has indicated his readiness to petition the party\u2019s National Complaints Committee against the MP for Nsawam\/Adoagyire, Frank Annor Dompreh for flouting party directives by  Veep Bawumia as next Flagbearer.<\/p>\n<p>The MP who\u2019s also Majority Chief Whip during the Nsawam-Adoagyire Constituency elections over the weekend, declared his support to Vice President Dr.\u00a0Mahamudu Bawumia\u00a0to lead the ruling party in the 2024 presidential election.<\/p>\n<p>He said Dr. Bawumia will win the 2024 election to become the next President of Ghana. \u201cBy the grace of the Almighty Allah, Dr. Bawumia will be the next President of Ghana\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>But his comments are in clear contravention of the code of conduct of party members in both presidential and parliamentary primaries ahead of the 2024 elections.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe code of conduct has been formulated in accordance with Article 18 of the\u00a0New Patriotic Party\u2019s constitution, and it is applicable to party supporters and actors  government Appointees; Ministers; Members of Governing Boards\/Councils; Chief Executive Officers of Governmental Institutions; Members of Parliament; Metropolitan. Municipal and District Chief Executives; Aspirants\/Potential Candidates; their Supporters and all other Members of the Party,\u201d a statement issued by John Boadu, the party\u2019s General Secretary, in July 2021 noted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe code of conduct is applicable during the period preceding the opening of nominations for prospective candidates to contest for the party\u2019s presidential and parliamentary elections.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reacting to Hon. Annor Dompreh\u2019s comments on Kasapa FM\/Agoo TV Wednesday, Mr. Solomon Owusu stated that the Majority Chief Whip is not bigger than the party, hence he should be dealt with accordingly to serve as a deterrent to others.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Nsawam-Adoagyire MP has been lawless following his flouting of the party\u2019s code of conduct and he must be called to order immediately. If we are serious as a party, that man should not be there.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If you\u2019re a Chief Whip in Parliament, you whip your members in line, but this man failed his very first test when we had some of our MPs voting for an opposition candidate to be the current Speaker of Parliament.
