{"id":1076190,"date":"2022-05-04T16:58:33","date_gmt":"2022-05-04T16:58:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/05\/04\/haruna-iddrisu-reacts-to-supreme-courts-order-for-gra-to-preserve-e-levy-records\/"},"modified":"2022-05-04T16:58:33","modified_gmt":"2022-05-04T16:58:33","slug":"haruna-iddrisu-reacts-to-supreme-courts-order-for-gra-to-preserve-e-levy-records","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/05\/04\/haruna-iddrisu-reacts-to-supreme-courts-order-for-gra-to-preserve-e-levy-records\/","title":{"rendered":"Haruna Iddrisu reacts to Supreme Court\u2019s order for GRA to preserve e-levy records"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"509\" class=\"entry-thumb\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/image_2021-12-21_125022-696x509.png\"   alt=\"\" title=\"Haruna Iddrisu\"\/><\/div>\n<p>The Minority Leader in Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu, one of the plaintiffs against the implementation of the Electronic Transfer Levy (E-Levy) has described the Supreme Court\u2019s order to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) to preserve e-levy records pending the determination of the substantive case, as \u201crefreshing and heartwarming.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The apex court ordered the GRA to keep accurate records of all e-levy deductions to enable a refund to payees if it is later determined that the law was passed unconstitutionally.<\/p>\n<p>This was after the 7-member panel of the Court, unanimously dismissed the application by three Minority MPs to suspend implementation of the levy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ALSO READ:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>In reaction to the directive, Haruna Iddrisu said he is satisfied with the Court\u2019s directive to the GRA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt least some people will not be in a rush to collateralise it until the substantive matter is determined.
