The United Arab Emirates-based Ghanaian Sammy has shared his reasons for traveling to Abu Dhabi. They were to work and impress his girlfriend\u2019s family because they did not accept him.<\/p>\n
In a chat on \u2018Daily Hustle Worldwide,\u2019 Sammy indicated that his girlfriend\u2019s family said he was unworthy of their daughter. As a result, he decided to travel because he believed it would put him in a better light.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cUnfortunately for me, I\u2019m an only child who always yearned for some companionship. So I decided to get married, but her family did not accept me.\u201d<\/p>\n
“Her family would insult me and make me feel unworthy, so I planned to succeed abroad. Even if I go to Dubai, it will prove something,\u201d he told DJ Nyaami.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Sammy further explained that most parents do not marry their daughter off to a man who is not \u2018rich.\u2019<\/p>\n
According to him, the main reason for leaving his home country was because he had quit his job as a cashew farmer.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThe salary was not enough, and the job was seasonal. I had to pay rent and all, so I decided to quit.\u00a0Finding a job in Ghana is also tough, so I had to travel to Abu Dhabi to work instead,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
