Issues concerning the e-levy and mobile money agent’s transactions have been fully clarified on Ekosiisen by Isaac Kwabena Amoako and Ruth Baidoo from MTN.<\/p>\n

This program was hosted by Osei Bonsu to give final clarity on e-levy and making transactions between your account and that of the agent since people still had problems with understanding it.<\/p>\n

Addressing issue 1 on paying normal charges if you transact from a merchant to your account, here’s the clarity.<\/p>\n

“Every agent earns a cash-in commission. If you go across the street to make a deposit, the agent is renumerated.”<\/p>\n

“If you will check the SMS that comes after a deposit, you would see at the footnote that cash-in is free, do not pay any money to the agent.”<\/p>\n

“So, it is not that Vodafone doesn’t charge and we charge, no. We pay them for their services. Every agent signs an agent code of conduct.”<\/p>\n

Addressing issue 2 on e-levy, here’s what was said:<\/p>\n

“The only time you pay e-levy is when you transact from your account. The only time you don’t pay e-levy is when you transact through an agent.”<\/p>\n
