{"id":1072772,"date":"2022-05-01T13:25:19","date_gmt":"2022-05-01T13:25:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/05\/01\/comply-with-implementation-of-e-levy-mobile-money-agents-association-urges-members\/"},"modified":"2022-05-01T13:25:19","modified_gmt":"2022-05-01T13:25:19","slug":"comply-with-implementation-of-e-levy-mobile-money-agents-association-urges-members","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/05\/01\/comply-with-implementation-of-e-levy-mobile-money-agents-association-urges-members\/","title":{"rendered":"Comply with implementation of E-levy\u2014Mobile Money Agents Association urges members"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"font-size: 17px;\">\n                                                   Accra, May 01, GNA- Mobile Money Agents Association of Ghana has called on members to comply with the implementation of the Electronic Transfer Levy (E-levy), which starts today, Sunday May 1, 2022.<\/p>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/1.21466739.jpg\" width=\"100%\" height=\"\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" class=\"kMediaObject\"\/><\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">A statement from the Association appealed to members to continue public education on the new tax to &#8220;restore confidence in the continuous usage of the platform to facilitate all financial transactions.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">The statement said, &#8220;Management highly appreciate the longstanding challenges facing agents in the business and taking steps at remedying them as soon as discussions on the e-levy settle.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">It said, &#8220;agents have no hand in e-levy charges or collection hence customers are not to pay any e-levy charges to agents.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">&#8220;Members are to note that deposits, withdrawals, cash outs and savings on momo wallet activities will not attract e-levy,&#8221; the statement added.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">The Association said it was in their collective interest to sustain the business, adding, &#8220;any acts that over burden the customer must be highly eschewed. We appeal to agents and customers to comply with this.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">The implementation of the Electronic Transfer Levy Act, 2022 (Act 1075), Ghana&#8217;s newly introduced revenue generation mechanism received Presidential Assent on March 31, this year, after it was passed by Parliament on March 29, 2022.<\/div>\n<div class=\"kMultiLine\">Various banking institutions have sent various text messages on the commence of the e-levy.<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Accra, May 01, GNA- Mobile Money Agents Association of Ghana has called on members to comply with the implementation of the Electronic Transfer Levy (E-levy), which starts today, Sunday May 1, 2022.
