– –<\/span> \u201cWe are not anointed to attack and criticize those in charge; that\u2019s not my mission,\u201d he said in church on Sunday, April 24, 2022, insisting: \u201cThe pulpit is not to attack or criticize authorities; it\u2019s to pray, and if you believe in God, then pray.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI exalt, therefore, that first of all supplication, prayers, intercession, and giving of thanks be made for all men irrespective of their religious background; for kings, for all that are in authority, and if we do that, we\u2019ll live a quiet and a peaceable life in all Godliness and honesty,\u201d Archbishop Duncan-Williams said, adding, \u201cThat is the only way Godliness and honesty and peace of any country is maintained \u2013 when prayers For it is said, \u2018Speak no ill of my people\u2019s king.\u2019<\/p>\n Archbishop Duncan-Williams, a preacher for about 45 years, also said that there was a period when a Ghanaian president was displeased with him just because he prayed for the opposition party at the time.<\/p>\n – –<\/span> Without going into detail, the founder of Action Chapel International said in his sermon: \u201cThere was a period when there was a president in this country; myself and other men of God from outside came and we went to meet him, and he was quite antagonistic toward me\u201d but \u201ckind and pleasant to everyone else.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cVery aggressive toward me,\u201d he said emphatically, adding that the president \u201cdidn\u2019t even recognize me.\u201d<\/p>\n – –<\/span> \u201cThis is a person I prayed for [for] many years, even while he was against me,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cI prayed for him; [he] visits me many times; we were that close; he visits me and all that,\u201d Archbishop Duncan-Williams added.<\/p>\n \u201cHe was so nasty that when we were leaving his office, I let everyone leave and I asked him, \u2018Mr President, what\u2019s going on here?’\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI didn\u2019t even allow security; I just asked, \u2018Mr President, something is wrong; what\u2019s going on?’\u201d \u2018I don\u2019t like your demeanour toward me.\u2019 And I replied, \u2018Something is wrong.’\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHe answered, \u2018You are correct; I am extremely unhappy with you,\u2019 and I said, \u2018Talk to me, Mr President; if you are upset, talk.’\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnd he informed me, and I found out that someone in my church who was so very close to me went to defame me, went to lie, and claimed I was praying for the then-opposition,\u201d Archbishop Duncan-Williams stated.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd I said, \u2018Mr President, it is true: I pray for both the opposition and the administration;
