C<\/span><\/span>onsolidated Bank of Ghana (CBG)<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span> the second-largest bank<\/span><\/span>\u00a0in<\/span><\/span> Ghana by branch network<\/span><\/span> has been accepted to join the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council, a major Commonwealth organ created by <\/span><\/span>the <\/span><\/span>54 Commonwealth Heads of Government to promote Trade, Enterprise, and Investment<\/span><\/span> within and<\/span><\/span> across the Commonwealth of Nations.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n CBG joins the Commonwealth at a unique time as it prepares for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Summit in Rwanda in June 2022, and the Commonwealth Games in <\/span><\/span>Birmingham,<\/span><\/span> in the United <\/span><\/span>Kingdom,<\/span><\/span> in <\/span><\/span>July 2022.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n It joins an illustrious group of companies such as <\/span><\/span>Standard Chartered, <\/span><\/span>Afreximbank, Dangote group, City of London, De La Rue, Royal Mail, and Rolls-Royce, <\/span><\/span>whose CEOs will <\/span><\/span>now <\/span><\/span>sit alongside Mr. Daniel Addo, CEO <\/span><\/span>of CBG<\/span><\/span>, <\/span><\/span>on<\/span><\/span> the Global Advisory Board.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe are very <\/span><\/span>delighted to welcome Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) as our newest Strategic Partner and to <\/span><\/span>appoint <\/span><\/span>Daniel Wilson Addo, Chief Executive Officer of CBG, to CWEIC\u2019s Global Advisory Council\u201d t<\/span><\/span>he Right Honourable Lord Marland of Odstock, Chairman <\/span><\/span>of CWEIC, said.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n With 114 branches across Ghana, CBG is the bank with the second-largest presence in Ghana. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe are excited about the Pan \u2013 African ambition of CBG and believe that its membership in CWEIC will be beneficial to this worthy prospect\u201d <\/span><\/span>Mr. Gabby Otchere -Darko, Chair of the Advisory Board, CWEIC Ghana, said.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWith the Commonwealth\u2019s combined gross domestic product of approximately 13 trillion, the CBG under the aegis of its dynamic CEO is well-positioned to become a leading financial player in Africa and the Commonwealth,\u201d said <\/span><\/span>Mr. John Obeng Apea, Head of Mission, CWEIC Ghana, Gambia, Sierra Leone, and Cameroon<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n About Consolidated Bank of Ghana<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n CBG is an indigenous bank wholly owned by the Government of Ghana.
