There are times when we all have to applaud thre police for a job we done after they will have stepped up their efforts in preventing crime in our communities.<\/p>\n

A media statement which was published on the 20th of April 2022 by the members of the South African Police Services announced the arrest of six suspects.<\/p>\n

Among the arrested was a 72 year old man as well as suspected gang members. They all got arrested after they were found in possession of dangerous weapons which have the possibility of causing great harm in our communities. Community members from Lusikisiki were full of appreciation as the police embarked on a crime prevention operation in which firearms and ammunition were seized.<\/p>\n

Four locations which were now being labelled as crime scenes were targeted and the members surely did not return empty handed. At Hombe location, the members arrested 3 suspects aged between 22 and 29. They were found in possession of 3 shotguns, 1 revolver and ammunition.<\/p>\n

At that same time, officers who were patrolling in Bovini made two arrests. A man who is 59 years in age was found in possession of a 9mm pistol which was loaded with ammunition. An elderly man who is 72 years old was also apprehended of the same offence as he had a pistol and several rounds of ammunition.<\/p>\n

A 34 year old man was also arrested at Dlibona location after he was found with a pistol. The last suspect was arrested after he was found with drugs.<\/p>\n

This signalled a fruitful operation by the members as they dealt criminals heavy blows on the evening of the 19th of April 2022. All the arrested suspects are set to make court appearances soon.<\/p>\n

The possibility of further charges being placed on the suspects cannot be ruled out as the firearms were taken for a ballistic testing to ascertain if they were used in other violent crimes across the country.<\/p>\n
