{"id":1062247,"date":"2022-04-20T18:06:50","date_gmt":"2022-04-20T18:06:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/04\/20\/asamoah-gyan-feels-hurt-after-kotoko-fans-booed-him-last-season\/"},"modified":"2022-04-20T18:06:50","modified_gmt":"2022-04-20T18:06:50","slug":"asamoah-gyan-feels-hurt-after-kotoko-fans-booed-him-last-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/04\/20\/asamoah-gyan-feels-hurt-after-kotoko-fans-booed-him-last-season\/","title":{"rendered":"Asamoah Gyan Feels &#8216;Hurt&#8217; After Kotoko Fans Booed Him Last Season |"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Former Ghana skipper Asamoah Gyan says he was &#8216;hurt&#8217; after Asante Kotoko fans booed him last season in the Ghana Premier League.<\/p>\n<p>Gyan, who is the top goalscorer in Black Stars&#8217; history with 51 goals, penned a one-year deal with Legon Cities on a free transfer prior to the start of the 2021\/22 football season.<\/p>\n<p>The 36-year-old made a return to the Ghanaian top-flight, 17 years after leaving Liberty Professionals.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I came to Legon Cities because my house is in Accra but Asante Kotoko is my team and scoring against Hearts of Oak is in my DNA,&#8221; Gyan told Asaase Radio.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;To be honest when Legon Cities played against Asante Kotoko and my own Kotoko fans booed me, to be honest that really hurt but I got over it and realised that it is all love; it did hurt though.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The former Sunderland forward scored 10 goals in 16 games before he left Liberty in 2003.
