The Russian Embassy in Ghana says the Government of Ghana must desist from blaming its economic woes on the Vladimir Putin-led attack on Ukraine.<\/strong><\/p>\n The Akufo-Addo led-administration has consistently blamed the current economic hardship in the country on global crises such as COVID-19 and the recent Russia-Ukraine war.<\/p>\n His Vice President Dr.\u00a0Mahamudu Bawumia\u00a0during an economy lecture held in the Central also alluded to the same.<\/p>\n But, the Russian Embassy in Accra disagrees.<\/p>\n In a series of tweets on its official Twitter handle, the Embassy disclosed that Ghana\u2019s economic challenges started before the invasion of Ukraine.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Embassy took notice of the increased number of news articles somehow or other accusing Russia of all negative trends in agricultural markets, gloomy prospects in terms of access of food and huge losses of farmers,\u201d the Embassy indicated.<\/p>\n It continued that \u201cHowever, the truth is different.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe Embassy wishes to shed some light on the roots and drivers of this crisis and provide a comprehensive and objective analysis without emotions and political prejudice.<\/p>\n \u201cFood prices started rising in mid-2020 and reached an all-time high in February 2022.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is a real market shock caused by high demand and rising prices on food, raw materials, and transportation services, freight in the post-COVID recovery period,\u201d portions of the Embassy\u2019s tweet explained.<\/p>\n The Embassy reiterated that the Russia-Ukraine conflict cannot be blamed and is \u201cnot a result of two months of this year,\u201d invasion.<\/p>\n Read More News HERE<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Source: starrfm<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The Russian Embassy in Ghana says the Government of Ghana must desist from blaming its economic woes on the Vladimir Putin-led attack on Ukraine.
