(Photo courtesy).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lugari Member of Parliament Hon Ayub Savula ditched Musalia Mudavadi\u2019s Amani National Congress after he joined Deputy President William Ruto under the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.<\/p>\n<p>Savula joined Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa\u2019s DAP-K Party and was made the Deputy Party Leader.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Savula declared his interest for the Kakamega gubernatorial seat. Incumbent Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya is almost finishing his second term in office.<\/p>\n<p>Wamalwa\u2019s Party has now settled on the Lugari legislator as its flag bearer for the Kakamega\u2019s top seat in the forthcoming general elections. The news was announced by the Party\u2019s leadership when they were holding a presser.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/b0e0cf0dd1b74392b1fc01e1fbbffdbf\"><\/p>\n<p>Deputy Governor Kutima who was also eying the seat has shelved his ambition in favor of Savula.<\/p>\n<p> The race to succeed Oparanya has also attracted Senator Cleophas Malala and ODM\u2019s Fernandes Barasa.
