Cardi B pulled back the curtain on her and Offset\u2018s relationship in a new interview, where she recounted personal anecdotes stretching back to the earliest days of their romance.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n As you may recall, Cardi and Offset had already dated on and off for a while when the Invasion of Privacy<\/i> artist announced they were expecting their first child together halfway through 2018. We found out shortly thereafter that the couple was actually married all along, and had tied the knot during a secret ceremony the previous September.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n Cardi and Offset now share two children \u2014 Kulture, who\u2019s 3, and Wave Set Cepheus, whose name they just recently unveiled after welcoming him into the world last fall \u2014 and it turns out their decision to say \u201cI Do\u201d was closely intertwined with plans to start a family.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n \u201cWe were making out and he was like, \u2018You\u2019re going to have my baby one day,’\u201d Cardi recalled in an interview with Essence for the magazine\u2019s latest cover story. She then, apparently, offered the Migos rapper an ultimatum.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n \u201cI was like, \u2018We ain\u2019t having no baby. You have to marry me,’\u201d Cardi explained. \u201cAnd he was like, \u2018Alright, let\u2019s get married.’\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n She said they ultimately chose to exchange vows after Cardi referenced the marriage conversation again during an argument. \u201cI was like, \u2018Let\u2019s just get married then. You said you wanted to marry me,’\u201d she shared. \u201cAnd we did.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n Cardi also reflected on how she and Offset have grown since their marriage began. \u201cI feel like our first year, even though we were in love with each other, we had a lot of lust,\u201d she said. \u201cWe didn\u2019t really know each other like that, because he was doing four shows a week. I was doing four shows a week. We would see each other about three or four times a month.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n These days, Cardi and Offset said they\u2019ve found a healthy balance between their professional schedules and personal lives. \u201cIt might sound weird, but we don\u2019t always put love first\u2014 because sometimes you can put love before work and mess up your career, because you\u2019re not focused,\u201d Offset noted in his own comments to Essence.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n \u201cLove is important, but if you\u2019ve got that foundation, we should respect each other and what we have going on,\u201d he added. \u201cI had never experienced a woman that was working like me and doing what I\u2019m doing.
