{"id":1059315,"date":"2022-04-18T07:00:39","date_gmt":"2022-04-18T07:00:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/04\/18\/the-only-girl-in-a-blind-family-of-five-struggles-to-goes-to-shs\/"},"modified":"2022-04-18T07:00:39","modified_gmt":"2022-04-18T07:00:39","slug":"the-only-girl-in-a-blind-family-of-five-struggles-to-goes-to-shs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/04\/18\/the-only-girl-in-a-blind-family-of-five-struggles-to-goes-to-shs\/","title":{"rendered":"The only girl in a blind family of five struggles to goes to SHS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Despite being admitted to Adeiso Presbyterian Senior High School, 16-year-old Adu Hannah, the only person who can see in her family, it difficult to attend school.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Appiah Comfort, a Crime Check Foundation (CCF) Charity Series recipient, is unable to obtain the materials listed on her prospectus in order for her to begin school.<\/p>\n<p>She tells crimecheckghana.org that despite being blind, she distributes sachet water in a school and also does laundry for others in order to support her family.<\/p>\n<p>Miss Appiah explained that the money she earns from her business is hard enough to feed her family, so supporting Hannah has become a hardship.<\/p>\n<p>She expressed concern that if she stayed at home, her only abled daughter\u2019s promising future might be hampered by adolescent pregnancy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHannah is the only one who can see and has been assisting me with household duties.\u201d I want her to achieve greater heights so that she can care for me as I grow older, but this may not be possible if she does not pursue further education.
